General Information
Join us for Salt & Light VBS at Shenandoah Assembly of God Church on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This exciting day of faith-filled fun is open to children ages 4-13 (children under 4 are welcome with a guardian present). Based on Matthew 5:13-16, our VBS will inspire kids to shine for Jesus through engaging Bible lessons, interactive characters, games, crafts, and more. Registration opens at 9 a.m., so come early! Be sure to bring a change of clothes for after the water games. To wrap up the day, families are invited to join us for a picnic celebration. We can’t wait to see you there!

Lesson
Children will discover what it means to shine for Jesus in a world that often tries to dim His light. Matthew 5:13-16 reminds us that we are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, boldly living out our faith so others may see God’s love through us. Through interactive lessons and activities, kids will learn how to stand strong in their faith, make a difference in their communities, and let their light shine brightly for Christ.
Crafts
During craft time, kids will create their own salt dough handprints as a special keepsake to remind them of their purpose as the salt and light of the world! The salt in the dough helps preserve it, just like we are called to share God’s love and truth to bring goodness into the world. Each handprint will be labeled with Matthew 5:13-14 and their name, making it a meaningful way to remember how they can make a lasting impact for Christ.
Games
Kids will have a blast with exciting games and activities designed to keep them moving and engaged! Throughout the day, they’ll enjoy fun water games, and after the event, they’ll get to cool off on a giant waterslide—so don’t forget a change of clothes! For our younger participants, a bounce house will be available, providing a safe and fun space for them to jump and play.

Water FUN!
After VBS wraps up, the fun continues with exciting water activities! Kids will have a blast playing water games and racing down a giant slip-n-slide. Our younger participants will get a special time to enjoy the slide first before moving on to a bounce house and other fun activities. To keep things comfortable, all children must bring a change of clothes (shorts and a t-shirt). Please note that bathing suits are not allowed. Get ready for a splashing good time!
Family Picnic
Join us for a special Family Picnic at 1:30 p.m. to wrap up an amazing day at Salt & Light VBS! Guardians are invited to enjoy a hot dog meal while celebrating the fun and learning their children experienced throughout the day. This is a great opportunity to see what the kids have been up to, hear about their adventures, and share in the excitement. After the meal, guardians are welcome to sign out their children and take them home, ending the day with great memories and full hearts!
