“
“Welcome to the Family!”
We’re so glad you’re exploring a relationship with Jesus. God loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you. Below are simple steps to help you understand how to know God and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
The Path to a Relationship with God
Recognize Your Need for God
We all fall short of God’s perfect standard, and that’s why we need Him in our lives.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Understand God's Love for You
God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to provide a way to restore your relationship with Him.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Repent and Turn From Sin
Repenting means turning away from the wrong things you’ve done and committing to live a life that honors God.
Acts 3:19 – “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
Believe in Jesus as Your Savior
Faith in Jesus and what He did on the cross is the way to salvation. Believe that He died for your sins and rose again to give you new life.
Romans 10:9 – “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Confess Your Sins
Acknowledge your belief in Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and trust Him to transform your life.
1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Receive God's Grace by Faith
Salvation is not something you can earn; it’s a gift you receive through faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Begin Your New Life in Christ
When you accept Jesus, you become a new person. The old life is gone, and a new one begins.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
How to Pray and Accept Jesus
If you’re ready to begin your journey with Jesus, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I recognize that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to be Lord of my life. Thank You for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me a new life. Help me to follow You from this day forward. In Your name, Amen.”
