Scripture: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1-2
Reflection: This scripture reflects a prophetic call for God’s people to rise from spiritual despair and reflect God’s glory, which has arrived as light in a dark fallen world. It signifies that while darkness covers the earth, believers are to draw near God’s presence. Several weeks ago, I was in my kitchen kneading dough to make cinnamon rolls. I had been dealing with some things and the Lord met me right there in that moment in my kitchen. As I was kneading the dough, I heard the Lord say “Rise, rise up my child.” Later that evening, I began to look into those words in my Bible and that’s when I came across Isaiah 60:1-2, “Arise, shine: For your light has come!…”
Rise up and let the light that God has given you shine through the battles you face. Rise up from the sorrows and awaken from the darkness. He has called you by name and you were born for a time such as this. We cannot overcome battles with humanly strength, but we can overcome by Gods strength. Like the kneading of this dough; shaping it, stretching it, and molding it before it rises– in each season, God is shaping and molding you into the warrior He has called you to be. Do not succumb to the enemy and his schemes. We are called to be the light in the dark for all to see. Be the light in the midst of battles, sufferings, and times of uncertainty. The glory of God is upon you. Rise up children of God, there is kingdom work to do.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You today thanking You that my light has come. I arise from every form of spiritual slumber, depression, and fear. I break free from every limitation and yoke of darkness. I proclaim that the glory of the Lord is risen upon me, and Your divine favor rests upon my life. I receive the grace to shine and draw others to the light of Christ. In Jesus Name, Amen.
