Scripture: “Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14
Reflection: Living water is eternal life. To experience this, one must “drink” the living water. The word “drink” is the present imperative tense, which means a continuous or repeated action. The act of “drinking” is not a momentary, single experience; it’s an ongoing lifestyle. Drinking the living the water requires regular interaction with the source of the living water, Jesus Christ.
Just like the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, Jesus doesn’t care what your race, gender, background, or culture is. He will meet you at your well. Wherever you are in life, He will meet you right where you are. He wants to have a relationship with you and He wants to fill your well, He wants to quench your thirst with the living water only He can give. Taste and see that He is good.(Psalm 34:8)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for the ability to be seen by You with love and grace, and to be free from the fear of coming to You with my mistakes and struggles. I ask to be filled with the living water that leads to everlasting life. I pray to be transformed by your love, mercy, and grace. In Jesus Name, Amen.
