Scripture: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14

Reflection: In Matthew 5, followers of Christ are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. It isn’t directly speaking of the objects, but, rather, how we are to live. In a world full of darkness, we are to be the light that illuminates good into the world and the salt that preserves it from decay.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to be the salt and light you have called me to be. Help your light to radiate through me to others so that they may be preserved by your Word. In Jesus Name, amen.
